Southwest, Delta, Spirit, and United Airlines depart for the B Concourse. This terminal also has all-gender and family restrooms, nursing rooms, and many food/drink options. This is amazing for first-time travelers, those fearful of flying, or us #AVGeeks. This concourse also has some amazing features, including the Kansas City Air Travel Experience, which helps travelers experience boarding a plane, storing overhead luggage, using a lavatory, and getting seated. Concourse AĬoncourse A is where you will find your departure gate if you are flying on Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Airlines, American Airlines, Frontier, JetBlue, or Sun Country (starting service in May 23). Note: there is also a new USO Lounge located in baggage claim area. One of the things you will notice in both concourses is the abundance of art throughout the terminal. Southwest, Delta, American, and United operate the most flights to and from the airport, with 11 airlines operating or planning operations this year. To help speed up entry into the terminal, MCI Airport has 16 lanes, as well as TSA PreCheck and CLEAR to help expedite your security process.
Upon entering the new terminal, you can check in or go straight to security once you clear security, you will be in Terminal A. The new terminal consists of two concourses (A and B) connected by a 635-foot glass walkway with a moving sidewalk. This new terminal replaces three outdated terminals that had been operating since 1972. This beautiful $1.5 billion terminal consolidated operations into a new 40-gate terminal with the ability to expand to 50 gates. On Tuesday (Feb 28th, 2023), after five years of work, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) has opened its brand new state-of-the-art terminal.
